Tumble Dryer Reviews
We are not allowed to publish which tumble dryers have been awarded a "Which? Best Buy" but you can access all their reviews (not just tumble dryers) for just £1 for 1 month. We strongly recommend reading their tumble dryer reviews as each machine is rigorously tested so you know which ones are best at drying your laundry quickly, evenly and with the least amount of energy consumption.
Before you buy
When choosing your new tumble dryer, in addition to the standard features that you consider such as price, capacity, vented or non vented, please also look carefully at energy efficiency and easy iron features.
With sky high electricity prices and promises that they will rise further it is important to consider energy efficient ('A' rated dryers) as tumble dryers consumer alot of energy. In fact, on fine days, try and dry your clothes outside to save money and help the environment. Drying clothes on your radiators may not save you money as it could make your central heating switch on when it wouldn't be on.
Action plan: Don't overfill your dryer so that the warm air can easily circulate and dry your clothes.
Summary
The main things to consider are:- Budget
- User reviews
- Reliability of brand & Best Buy (source Which?)
- Energy efficiency - the more efficient, the cheaper to run
- Size of machine - do you wash for a large family or just yourself
- Will it fit or do you need a compact tumble dryer?
- Recycle your old appliance
